BBQ at Downtown East on 29 Nov 2005

The aroma of food filled the air at Downtown East as we made our way to Block C. I had already been drooling over the otah we bought from Sheng Siong to bring to the chalet. The sky was unkind to us. We quickly made our way to the unit. The BBQ had to stop. Pat was busying shifting the food in. We filled our stomach with some bee hoon, curry chicken, otah and spring roll. Though the sky was throwing a tantrum, we still enjoyed ourselves.

**Thanks to Pat for the invitation!**

Out of Love

We were on our way to Mac Ritchie for a walk when I looked upon the mirror.

Me: <Brushing my hair with my fingers> Oh no! I have so many white hair. I'm becoming "Lao Ah Mm" -- old woman.

Hubby: <Concentrating the traffic> Why worry? I have lots of white hair too. I'm "Lao Ah Kong" -- old man. So, we are fated together.

My heart soothed. Sincere or not...I didn't care much.

While walking across the bridge at HSBC tree-top, I was trembling with fear. There were many people on it. I was afraid that the bridge would snap.

Me: <Gasping for air> I'm scared. So many people! I'm afraid the bridge will snap. We are too heavy.

Hubby: Don't worry. If it really happens, I will make sure I fall first and "hoop" (catch) you.

My heart soothed once again. Sincere or not...I didn't care :)

Precious Moments

Time is slipping by mercilessly. In a blink of an eye, we will soon bid year 2005 goodbye. Scary huh! In no time, all of us will just age, fall sick and finally, meet death. Life is just a procedure. No matter what, I thank God for everything -- my earthly life, my beloved husband...I'm so blessed. I thank those who brought me back to God’s kingdom. God is awesome. The hatred I used to have is vanishing slowly and I’m starting to pursue love.

We had a BBQ at East Coast Park to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I nearly forgot**. Hubby did not know of our plan. He was touched when I brought him there. I met my sister-in-law. I felt neutral. Though we did not speak to each other, I bid her goodbye when she was leaving. The misdeeds she had done which caused havoc in my family, I felt an urge to forget and forgive. My elder brother got in some kind of trouble on that day. He slipped and fell into the sea while strolling by the breakwaters. Fortunately, he was a good swimmer. His mobile and blue-tooth earpiece were all soaked wet. I could see he was not in a good state. I offered to buy him a new mobile and gave him $300 the next day. I had lots of thoughts on that day. Hubby was the happiest among all. I was happy too. It was because I did something for him. At times, I feel I have not done enough for him as a wife. His unconditional love, I appreciate it deeply. I will treasure him always.

** Specially thanks to:

Audrey and Eve who helped me out in the preparation.

Louis and Eileen for the birthday cake.

Thanks to the rest who made an effort to attend the BBQ.

Hubby gave me another surprise on Sunday. The last time was the Beyond’s concert tickets. He bought a mobile (Sony Ericsson W800) for me. No matter what I like, he will buy it for me. No matter how much I need him, he will be there for me. I hope that I will become a better person who is worthy for his love.

November Rain

The sky was grey. The weather was cool. It was 7 o'clock in the morning. I took my shower, dressed up and ready for work. It was raining then.

At work, I was busy then though my boss wasn't in office. I was not in a very good mood. I felt irritated somehow by...someone...some work...I had an unpeaceful mind. I had mixed feelings... it was difficult to describe.

I had a migraine when I reached home. My head throbbed. My heartbeat was racing. I might be suffering anxiety disorder. I fell to my bed. I was irritated by noises. I threw tantrums at my hubby. He comforted me.

I am feeling better now.

Inspiration Urge

Do you have any ghost stories to share? I have one. It happened to my colleague when she was in overseas. She was in the ladies then. She was comfortably sitting on the bowl when her anklet jiggled. She could sense immediately something was not quite right - "something" was playing with her anklet. She did not fear at all. Instead, she told that "thing" off. If I was the one who experienced it, I wouldn't dare to do such thing afterall. I would probably dash out of the ladies. Haha! That's me.

My colleague also mentioned that the "Strong Room" in our office was not clean. Everytime she enters the room, she always feels disturbed. Here comes another story -- The "Strong Room". We would frighten one another at times and we would giggle about it.

Here's a story to share. I wrote it out of my boredom.

**The "Strong Room"**

It was a gloomy morning. As usual, I was late for work. I took a glance at the movement chart. My colleague, Ah Swee had reported sick again. It had been ages since the last time I saw her. I did not know why I missed her terribly. My instinct told me something was not right. My colleagues deduced that she might have contracted some terminal illness. No one knew.

That night, I had a nightmare. I was at work. As usual, the place was hectic. Ah Swee was there. I walked over. Ah Swee’s face was pale and her oriental eyes were bloodshot. Chills started to run down my spine. I could not recognise her. All of sudden, blood trickled down her cheeks. I froze.

The alarm clock rang. I opened my eyes. "Oh no! Late again!" I muttered. Soon, I forgot about the nightmare.

I was not allowed to enter the building. Some people speculated someone had been murdered. After two hours of long waiting, the staff were allowed to enter the building. As soon as I entered my office, the police approached me. I was interviewed. I realised that Ah Swee had been murdered and her corpse was found in the ‘Strong Room’. My heart missed a beat. My colleagues mentioned that Ah Swee died terribly with her eyes wide-opened. I could not believe it. I wondered who actually called to apply sick leave for Ah Swee then. I had an eerie feeling. The police left. No one dared to enter the ‘Strong Room’. The cleaners were here earlier to wash up the place. I could still see blood stains on the carpets. Her bloodshot eyes followed me. I could not erase the image from my memory. My goose bumps appeared the moment I passed the ‘Strong Room’.

To this day, you can still hear murmuring about the incident. There are ghost lurking in the ‘Strong Room’. Senior staff are warned not speculate the murder to the junior staff. However, some of junior staff have seen ghostly image in the ‘Strong Room’. The spirit of Ah Swee remains unrest. She must have suffered a great grievous.
