Valentine’s Day is here…a day when lovers express their love and innermost feelings with each other. I’m no exception. To make this day a memorable one, two weeks ago, I already called to reserve a table at Ritz Carlton, Greenhouse. I chose this venue because we had not been there before. And, I heard many good reviews too. Before that, I had actually done some sourcing in the Internet. One of my choices was IL-Lido. Situated at Sentosa Golf Club, IL-Lido is an Italian restaurant. I read about this place from the forum and I thought why not we to try something refreshing and romantic. However, I was worried that the food was relatively small portion and surely, hubby would complain about it. Because it is a special day and most of the restaurants will definitely increase the price. I had been thinking for quite some time and finally, I decided to go for buffet. No matter what, it is more worthwhile than ala-carte. So, I made several phone calls to some 5/6-star hotels. Wow! Some were really expensive. Then, I was left with 2 choices – The Line, Shangri-La and Greenhouse, Ritz Carlton. Later, I found out that ‘The Line’ was not as fantastic as what some forumers had claimed. So, I was left with ‘Greenhouse’. Just browsing through the menu, it had already made me drooling several times. Hopefully, my decision is a perfect one. Hubby told me that he would be busy…unless, I date him, or else he won’t be available to dine with me. Hubby was only pulling my leg…Hahaha!

Last Sunday, I celebrated my birthday at a relatively new restaurant located at Marina South Jetty. This time round, it was something special. For the past few years, we would normally have buffet for birthday celebration. This restaurant is fairly posh. I had opted for indoor seating. There is outdoor seating as well where you can get to see the sea. However, it was quite warm that night. Food wise, I ordered the soup of the day, which was mushroom soup, main course ribeye steak and desert duo chocolate mousse. To my surprise, the food was relatively small portion…especially the desert. I was abit disappointed then. But then, who cares! All my best friends were present to celebrate this special day with me. I received a ‘Precious Moments’ figurine from Eve and Audrey…Many kisses to you gals! Many thanks to Louis & Eileen for the ice cream cake and Edwin & Agnes for the white wine. The whole dinner cost us about $395. Each of us paid our own share. Frankly speaking, it is not a good idea to dine there in group. Perhaps, two people (lovers) will do. I was abit upset then as no one wanted to give this birthday girl a treat. Anyway, it was over. I was happy that at least, I had a gift that I really wanted (from Audrey & Eve). My birthday gift from hubby will be belated one. I already guessed it. He is giving me a cross pendant. Hopefully, there are REAL diamonds on it. Why did I need to cap the word, REAL…because he has a lot of fake ones at his office…Hahaha!
An update from my last checkup – I’m entering into my 3rd trimester now. My baby was weighing 1695g at 27 weeks. My gynae said she was abit big. So happy! At least, she is healthy. Everything went on smoothly. Praise the Lord!
