My Pregnancy Journal -- Part 10
It’s nearing end of March 2007. I’m getting flustered every now and then. I have been experiencing contractions…my quality sleep has been badly affected. And, my heartburn has worsened, making me waking up in the middle of the night to consume my medicine. The rashes on my stomach have yet to disappear…they itch me terribly. I can’t imagine when the labour pain comes…Will I cry out loud? Based on the contractions (Braxton Hicks) I have been suffering, I think my pain threshold is rather low. No matter what, I’m full of excitement. I can’t wait to see my baby…longing to carry her in my arms. I pray every single day for her health. God will bless her. Thank God for watching over my pregnancy – a smooth sailing one.Days seem to slip by mercilessly. Things keep changing dramatically and I feel that I need to keep up the pace. At times, I feel that I have not enjoyed fully…And, there are many things that I need to learn…Let’s talk about investment, I would like to try doing trading online. This is my first step to keep up with the pace. I have been reading regarding shares & stocks, unit trusts, bonds and etc but at times, I’m still abit confused. I don’t think it is complex but just that I need to study them before acting on it. I’m not a person who can take the risk. And, I don’t have much funds either. Hopefully, I can start on it and earn some returns few years down the road…hehe! As time goes by, I feel that maturity has changed me a little…I’m thinking of the future. I don’t intend to stay long at my current job. I’m getting tired. One of colleagues just left…Though I do miss her but somehow, I feel happy for her…I envy her too that she has actually made the choice to do so. I’m still staying put because I can’t give up the luxuries that I’m enjoying now. I hope that I have the courage to leave everything behind and leave…I can do the things that I like…maybe to set-up an on-line store whereby people can buy my shoes…What’s there to worry…My husband is a shoe manufacturer. I don’t need to worry about the orders…I don’t need a warehouse…I don’t need a huge capital. Once I have succeed, my dream will then come true…my dream is to open a shoe shop…I just lack of the capital…A bank loan is totally out of my plan…I don’t like to be in debt. However, I feel that God will plan for me…definitely…He has always been watching over me and He will decide the things that are best for my sake. Soon, my baby girl – Adriel is arriving and I will be fully occupied…physically, emotionally and financially. We’ll see then!

My Pregnancy Journal -- Part 9
Visited my gynae yesterday. Sob! In a month, I was increased by 3 kg. Not sure it was due to my water retention. To-date, I have put on 4 kg in total. I’m too conscious. Hopefully, I won’t put on any further…maybe another 1-2 kg should be OK. My appetite has increased tremendously. Oops! I’m frequently hit by cravings nowadays…especially pastries and fast food. I just had Macdonald (McWings and McChicken) for lunch. Wow! Too much? Noooo…Most importantly, my cravings were satisfied…I enjoyed the food. I get hot easily nowadays. I’m having rashes and they itch me terribly. I have been applying Calamine lotion. However, it didn’t help much. During the weekends, I bathe at least three times…longer time as well. While I’m at home, my aircon will be on most of time. Hence, in the month of February alone, my SP bill was $155 (for 2 people). Very high usage huh!
There was a baby fair at Takashimaya during the last weekends. My husband and I were sourcing for a stroller. Wow! Just a stroller, it had already given me a big headache. Though the strollers at the fair were sold at a relatively cheap price, but none of them attracted us. We were looking for something stable and reliable. Those lightweight strollers looked fragile…because they were made of plastics. Was I too particular? Robinsons was also having a sale. Quinny, one of the preeminent brand strollers in Europe, was sold at $599. My husband liked it very much. However, I felt the price was abit steep. And, I felt it was abit too bulky. It was a hard decision. We also went to Baby Hypermart located at Kaki Bukit several times. Just the Quinny stroller itself cost $999 and the baby seat which could attach to the stroller cost about $300. So, the Quinny stroller at Robinsons was worthwhile getting…However, we decided to get something cheaper. Graco…another popular brand. We eyed on one that was sold at $229. But, not sure why we didn’t purchase it in the end. We saw many parents using the Peg Perego Piko P3 stroller. We saw at least more than 5 of them at the fair. So, I was thinking…it must be an excellent stroller. So, I stopped and spoke to one of the mothers. I found out from her that it was indeed a good stroller. Actually, we saw this stroller at Baby Hypermart too. It was sold at $530. So, we bought some baby stuff at the fair and afterwhich, we headed to Kaki Bukit to purchase the stroller. The sales assistant was kind enough to give me a discount. After many bargains, she gave a good offer at $430. And, it was the last piece left. So, we bought it. I was happy that finally, we got ourselves a reliable stroller. Later, we went to Baby Kingdom next door to buy some baby stuff. We spent quite a lot. But, those were necessities…no choice I think.

My Pregnancy Journal -- Part 8
I’m into my 32 weeks of pregnancy…how time flies…I’m feeling excited. At the same time, I’m feeling scared. 8 more weeks to go…soon, I’m going to see my baby girl. Her movements are getting more obvious nowadays. I thank God for giving me this opportunity to experience her kicks and rubs. She is wonderfully created indeed. I’m having a sense of satisfaction and I’m enjoying it. I’m going to shower her with all my love. I thank God for making me a joyful mother…I thank God for His grace and unconditional love, I have actually come so far without any perilous encounters. I’m considered blessed. I’m going to visit my gynae soon, next Monday. So excited! I’m seeing her through the scans again. I can’t wait for the day to come, to see her personally. I have been wondering who she will resemble most…Father or Mother? Haha! No matter what, as long as she is healthy…this is the most important.
